I'm going to keep an eye on it and see if the problem reoccurs but so far it hasn't after a few hours.
#Dell u2713hm resolution problem windows
My speculation is there is some strange interaction in Windows between the Screen Saver option and the Turn Off Display Option and when they match up strange things happen (as in every 4*15 or 3*20 minutes.) The GPU i am looking for is only supporting HDMi (RX 2070). I am looking to get a new GPU but i will not be able to achive anything higher using HDMi. However the DVi in-put supports up to 2560x1440. No messages displayed anywhere as to why it went blank and came back. my Dell U2713HM apparently doesn't support a resolution higher than 1920/1080 16x9. What was happening before (as of this morning) is about every hour the screen would blank out for about 4-5 seconds and then come back as though nothing had happened. This last time around I changed it to 15 minutes. The U2713HM DVI-D Dual Link port can do 2560x1440 60Hz using. In Control Panel Items -> Personalization -> Screen Saver Settings there is a setting for the screen saver which I had set to blank and set to 20 minutes. The Dual Link DVI cable is completely useless as the maximum resolution it allows is 1920x1080. Click the Dropdown list of the following procedures: If you may need. In the Control Panel Items ->Power Options -> Edit Plan Settings there is a Turn off Display option which I had set to 15 minutes .one of the Screen resolution and select 1920 x 1200 (U2413) or 2560 x 1440 (U2713H). It turns out there are two places where it is being set and the two don't have to agree. least get some resolutions crisper - that would also solve my main issue with. What I do think fixed it is the screen saver settings. including a Dell U2713HM which i bought because all the artists in the. I don't think this fixed the problem but it something that I changed. One is the hard drive power off option which I originally had set to 60 minutes and changed it to 30 minutes. The other thing I did which may have fixed it comes down to a couple of other power saving options in Windows. That doesn't happen when the screen blanks. I've still left that set because when the display goes to sleep and comes back it shows me the message about changing modes. I did check the Dell Display Manager and I do have PowerNap enabled with the option chosen to the put the display to sleep when screen saver activates. I seem to have fixed it though I'm not entirely sure how.
